Recently I successfully completed my PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty Instructor Course in Wellington, New Zealand. Today I received my certification from PADI.
This allows me to conduct the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty course, in which divers learn about the use of medical oxygen in emergency situations. They also gain experience by practising skills under instructor supervision in rescue scenarios.

PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor

Recently I successfully completed my PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor Course in Scorching Bay, Wellington, New Zealand. Today I received my certification from PADI.
This allows me to conduct the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty course, in which divers learn about underwater camera systems, the PADI SEA method for getting great shots quickly, the three primary principles for good underwater photos, and lots more fun stuff. They also gain experience by using digital underwater cameras under instructor supervision.

PADI Underwater Videographer Specialty Instructor

Recently I successfully completed my PADI Underwater Videographer Specialty Instructor course in Scorching Bay, Wellington, New Zealand. Today I received my certification from PADI.
This allows me to conduct the PADI Underwater Videographer Specialty course, in which divers learn about selecting, maintaining and caring for your underwater video equipment, videography fundamentals, such as exposure, focus, shot types, moves, story line, shot sequencing, and lots more cool stuff. They also gain experience by recording their own underwater video footage under instructor supervision during the three training dives.
This Instructor Specialty also ties in quite nicely with my extensive training and experience as an Audiovisual Media Designer.

PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Instructor

Recently I successfully completed my PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Instructor Course in Owhiro Bay, Wellington, New Zealand. Today I received my certification from PADI.
This allows me to conduct the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course, in which divers learn about techniques for exploring shipwrecks, how to avoid common hazards, how to research and learn the background of your favorite wrecks, wreck scuba diving equipment considerations, techniques for entering intact wrecks, and much more fun stuff. They also gain experience by planning, organizing and making at least four wreck dives under instructor supervision.

Recently I successfully completed my PADI Night Diver Specialty Instructor course in Princess Bay, Wellington, New Zealand. Today I received my certification from PADI.
This allows me to conduct the PADI Night Diver Specialty course, in which divers learn about night dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems, how to control your buoyancy at night, underwater navigation at night, nocturnal aquatic life, and lots more cool stuff. They also gain experience by practising skills and procedures under instructor supervision on at least three night dives.

Recently I successfully completed my PADI Search & Recovery Specialty Instructor Course in Owhiro Bay and Princess Bay, Wellington, New Zealand. Today I received my certification from PADI.
This allows me to conduct the PADI Search & Recovery Specialty course, in which divers learn about search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and how to deal with potential problems, how to locate large and small objects using search patterns, how to use a lift bag and other recovery methods, limited visibility search techniques, and lots more fun stuff. They also gain experience by practising different search patterns and other related skills under instructor supervision during the four training dives.

Recently I successfully completed my PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor Course in Princess Bay, Wellington, New Zealand. Today I received my certification from PADI.
This allows me to conduct the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course, in which divers learn about techniques for diving in the deeper range of 18-40 metres / 60-130 feet and deep scuba diving equipment considerations. They also gain experience by planning, organizing and making at least four deep dives under instructor supervision.

Recently I successfully completed my PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Instructor course in Owhiro Bay, Wellington, New Zealand. Today I received my certification from PADI.
This allows me to conduct the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course, in which divers learn about navigation patterns, natural and compass navigation, how to mark or relocate a submerged object from the surface, underwater mapping, how to follow irregular courses with the Nav-Finder, dive site relocation, how to estimate distance underwater, and lots more useful stuff. They also gain experience by practising navigation and related skills under instructor supervision both on land and during the three training dives.

Recently I successfully completed my PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Specialty Instructor Course in Kau Bay, Wellington, New Zealand. Today I received my certification from PADI.
This allows me to conduct the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Specialty course, in which divers learn about diver propulsion vehicle dive planning organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards, diver etiquette and how to avoid harming fragile aquatic life, and lots more fun stuff. They also gain experience by using DPVs on at least two dives under instructor supervision.

Recently I successfully completed my PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty Instructor course in Wellington, New Zealand. Today I received my certification from PADI.
This allows me to conduct the PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty course, in which divers learn about techniques for getting more dive time by using enriched air nitrox, enriched air scuba diving equipment considerations, enriched air considerations like managing oxygen exposure, how to tell what's in your scuba tank, how to set your dive computer, and lots more interesting stuff. They also gain experience by practising skills under instructor supervision in the practical application sessions.

Today I successfully completed my PADI Instructor Examination at Lake Coleridge near Christchurch, New Zealand. This makes me a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor and allows me to conduct the following PADI courses:
- Discover Scuba Diving,
- Bubblemaker,
- Seal Team,
- Scuba Diver,
- Open Water Diver,
- Adventure Diver,
- Advanced Open Water Diver,
- Rescue Diver,
- Divemaster,
- the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty,
- the Project AWARE Specialty,
- and the AWARE - Coral Reef Conservation Specialty.
My instructor examiners were Brigit Jager and Tim Marshall of PADI Asia-Pacific. For my open water presentations I got an average of 4.7 out of 5 possible points, thanks to the excellent training during my instructor development course by Tony Howell of the New Zealand Sea Adventures dive center, Wellington, New Zealand.
